LEARNING THROUGH OUTDOOR ADVENTURE

Since 1942, LOUD THUNDER OUTFITTERS has provided experiences that enable people to connect with and gain respect for themselves, their community, and the natural world.

We would love to host your next school field trip or corporate retreat! If you don't see what you're looking for in the list below, contact us and we can customize one for your group.

Each field trip or retreat includes:

  • A 1-hour lunch break mid-day
  • Bus and/or vehicle parking available on site
  • Hands-on experiences
  • Staff
  • Certified equipment
  • Take home project (if applicable)

Cost:

  • Field Trips (School Age Children)
    • Half Day: $15/person
    • Full Day: $20/person and includes lunch
  • Retreats (Adult participants)

Looking for ideas? Our field trips or retreats can be customized to your group depending on what you think will provide the greatest benefit. Each idea below has some possible programming ideas. We can build your adventure from here!

BFL 75

GOAL: Master several key skills that help make decisions, navigate complex issues, and harness the power of teamwork. Participants will be introduced to five key skills: Leadership, Trust, Communication, Problem Solving, and Self-Confidence.

GOAL: Embark on a captivating journey through the cosmos with the Loud Thunder Astronomy Tower. Participants will delve into the wonders of the universe as they explore celestial bodies, cosmic phenomena, and the mysteries of space. This immersive experience includes hands-on activities, telescope observations, and rocket launching.

PROGRAM EXAMPLES:

  • In depth tour and demonstration of the observatory
  • Build, launch, and recover a model rocket

GOAL: Participants get their hands dirty in our different ecosystems as they discover the process of nature and the value of environmental responsibility. Leave No Trace is the guiding set of principles behind every activity. Dig into the soil, investigate animal habitats, learn how foresters calculate the amount of timber in trees, and catch and investigate invertebrates living in Lake Lennen.

GOAL: Jump in on an exhilarating journey of wilderness survival skills. Participants will learn essential techniques for thriving in the great outdoors. From building shelters and starting fires, to identifying edible plants and purifying water, this experience equips you with practical knowledge and confidence in challenging environments.
